The Caregiver Alliance of Suffolk County welcomes caregivers and elders from all walks of life. We seek to provide high quality, comprehensive services in an atmosphere of respect for the diversity of our communities and the individuals who reside in them.
The Caregiver Alliance of Suffolk County offers the following services to both English and non-English-speaking caregivers:
● Care Advising which includes one-on-one consultations with experienced and knowledgeable staff who will conduct in-home assessments, provide information and referral, and help you develop a care plan that will meet your needs and the needs of your loved one.
● Education and Training on issues of caring for elders and on community services.
● Support Groups for caregivers so you can meet others who are going through similar caregiving situations
● Workplace Seminars for working caregivers, at their place of employment
● Respite Funds to help caregivers access needed services or to get a break from caregiving responsibilities. For example, this might include financial support to caregivers to help purchase adaptive equipment like grab bars, or to pay for temporary, substitute care for loved ones.
● Specialized Services and Support Groups for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered caregivers.
● Resources for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren including support groups, respite care, campership scholarships, individual counseling, advocacy assistance.
Our staff are multi-lingual and can directly assist caregivers who speak English, Haitian-Creole, French, Vietnamese, Russian, and Spanish. Interpretation can be provided in Italian, Portuguese, Mandarin, Cantonese and other languages.
